TERMS AND CONDITIONS

All rentals subject to terms of hire on the Rental Agreement. Rates are subject to change without notice.

Each day is based on a 24 hour period. Extensions of hire to be made by telephone. Each hour beyond a completed day is charged at 1/5th the daily rate, after 5 hours a full day applies.

THE HIRE OF A VEHICLE IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO A PERSON WHO HAS HELD A FULL DRIVING LICENCE FOR A MINIMUM PERIOD OF 4 YEARS.

  • PRICE - includes unlimited kilometres (subject to area of use & term of rental), comprehensive insurance & GST 12.5%.
  • INSURANCE - An insurance excess of NZ$1750 (conditions apply) on all hires. This must be covered by leaving a credit card imprint or other acceptable method. All accidents, damages or losses will be deducted from the above excess, including tyre/s, windscreen and under-body damage.
  • PREMIUM PROTECTION INSURANCE - $15 per day. This reduces the excess from NZ$1750 to NZ$250, and includes insurance cover to windscreen. Auto Rentals Direct strongly recommends Premium Protection Insurance to our customers to minimise excess exposure allowing you to travel with full peace of mind. The minimum drivers age for Premium Insurance is 25 years of age.
  • LICENCE - any full licence recognised by the MOT or International Drivers Licence written in the English language. Drivers must be over 21 years of age.
  • PETROL - the vehicle is refilled at the hirer's expense.
  • VEHICLE EXAMPLES - are for guidance only. Auto Rentals Direct Ltd reserves the right to substitute similar models.
  • RATES - all rates quoted are Auckland to Auckland. One way rentals negotiable, and only by prior arrangement.
  • PICK UP & DELIVERY - available from Airport, or selected Hotels or Motels with rental of four days or more. For a 1 - 3 day rental a delivery fee will be charged. Prior notification of these pickup requirements minimises delays in this regard. Extra charge levied for pickups or drop-offs outside normal hours.
  • UNLIMITED KILOMETRES - rates available on all rentals. However, for rentals of three days or less, daily rate plus kilometre charge applies.
    PAYMENT - full payment is required on collection of the rental vehicle. Payment may be made by Amex, Visa, Mastercard or Diners. Cash Travellers Cheque or personal cheques accepted with a credit card.
  • NO SMOKING in all vehicles.
